The goals of the annual WSO Symposium always include broadening collaboration among the various sectors of the safety field, building professional skills and knowledge, strengthening professionalism within the membership, broadening networking opportunities, and raising awareness of the value and impact of
“Making Safety a Way of Life…Worldwide.”
The WSO Symposium is always a gathering of friends and colleagues, a place to improve performance and meet new people in the safety field. Symposium topics generally include but are not limited to, occupational safety and health, environmental safety and health, ergonomics, systems safety management, security, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, transportation safety, construction safety, off-the-job safety, recreational safety, safety of the workplace, disaster preparedness, and legislative topics of the national and global scale.
You’ll connect with leaders, experts, elected officials, and changemakers of today and tomorrow, who are all committed to promoting the continuous advancement of safety and accident prevention technology and striving for a universal level of professionalism and competence among its members and all professionals and practitioners in the multi discipline of occupational and environmental safety, health, and accident prevention.
WSO Symposiums are known for a unique, friendly atmosphere, providing an opportunity for corporate managers and executives, SH&E professionals, advocates of safety and accident prevention, leaders of safety organizations, and WSO members from around the world to network and connect, exchange information, learn about new programs, and gain professional knowledge at a variety of breakout sessions. CEUs (USA only) will be awarded through the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, USA ($25 fee).
WSO Global Safety Roundtable
What better way to round off Opening Day than to hear powerful stories from your colleagues about their expeditions at work and in life that have led them or those around them to better health and wellness…where ideas are shared, assumptions are tested, and participants are asked to view a perspective through a different lens. Suggestions, comments, resolutions, etc., of the Roundtable discussion are formatted for submission.to governmental legislation and Missions of the United Nations (UN), International Labor Organization (ILO), World Health Organization (WHO), and similar rule making groups on the local, national, and international levels.
Awards Banquet
The WSO Awards Banquet is scheduled on Tuesday evening to honor the individuals, corporations, organizations, and other groups for their contributions in the protection of people, property, resources, and the environment. The banquet is always a highlight of the Symposium, so we hope you will make plans to attend. Award winners will be recognized, as well as other special honorees, including distinguished guests, board members, and committee members. The banquet is included in the registration fee for Symposium attendees, and you may purchase tickets for your guests for $70 each.*

Symposium Venue
Holiday Inn Kansas City Airport is the hotel of the KCI Expo Center! They are conveniently located only three miles from the New World Classs Award Winning Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and the Northland Kansas City area. Whether you plan on staying a while or just making a quick stop at Kansas City International, you will find both short and long-term parking available for your vehicle! Their proximity to all major highways provides you with an easy, short drive to downtown Kansas City.
The location offers you fast access to surrounding attractions. Visit the Jowler Creek Winery and Vineyard for a wine tasting or go shopping at Zona Rosa. A short drive up I-29 via the Platte City exit will bring you to historic Weston, MO, where you can enjoy the variety of shops, restaurants, wineries, and breweries in town. They are also a short distance to many local area companies, including DeLaval, Haldex, MacDon, and Wheatbelt.
