EHS Manager

Eastern Wisconsin, USA

Our client is a leading global supplier of technologies and components in the passenger car, light and heavy-duty commercial and off-highway vehicle markets, and also operates in the power generation, aerospace, marine, rail and industrial sectors.

Some of the responsibilities include developing, implementing and maintaining an Environmental, Health and Safety Program that will allow the facility to operate in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations; implementation and maintenance of the ISO 14000 EHS Management System including system and document control; preparing and filing all legal reports on a timely basis; control and disposal of all hazardous material; preparation of the applications for permits to install, operate or modify pollution control systems; implement innovative waste handling and treatment systems to achieve minimization goals and reduce cost while being legally and environmentally compliant; develop and present training programs to acquaint plant personnel with chemical hazards; enable them to effectively carry out safety procedures, and select, maintain and use personal protective equipment; inspect and approve all safety devices; maintain all auditor and compliance training.

Qualifications: BS in EH&S or related and 3+ years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in management systems and leadership experience.

 

Corporate Safety Manager

Northern New Jersey, USA

Our client is a world leader in sustainable waste management and renewable energy.

In this newly created role, you will review and provide impactful instruction and leadership related to quarterly facility improvement plans for enterprise organization, in conjunction with Corporate and Regional Safety personnel and the field operations teams. Some of the responsibilities include: Develop new corporate programs and conduct annual facility audits outside the assigned region including implementation; foster the success of innovative safety management systems through strong relationships throughout the enterprise with the various leadership teams while identifying safety deficiencies and offering means for cost effective corrective action; develop and teach training courses in the field of safety management as needed; coordinate/track medical surveillance program and lead exposures; industrial hygiene sampling, analysis and reporting data base tracking; accident investigation. Significant travel, 50%-60%.

Qualifications: 8+ years of safety and health experience including OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and DOT regulations; multi-site experience; BS in Safety or related; The preferred industry experience the client is looking for includes energy, energy transmission, power plant, or manufacturing. Pluses include graduate degree and certification (CIH or CSP).

 

Site EHS Manager

Los Angeles, California, USA area

Our client is a Fortune 200 manufacturer of optical products, specialty materials, glass and fiberglass. This position is in a plant of approximately 500 employees.

The responsibilities for this position include: leadership, direction and training to ensure a safe workplace for employees while insuring compliance with applicable EH&S laws and regulations; evaluate site equipment, systems and work procedures and recommend procedures for safe use; strong knowledge and experience in areas of HazCom, LOTO, machine guarding, confined spaces, contractor safety and electrical safety; assist in preparing environmental reports; oversees activities of incident investigation, root cause analysis, ergonomic, 6s and site safety teams; organize and maintain the various EH&S training programs; interface with outside agency inspectors; proactively work towards improving safety performance through developing, implementing EHS programs and processes according to the company and corporate guidelines and monitor progress using leading safety performance indicators. This position has one direct report, reports to the Plant Manager and will lead various EH&S teams at the plant. The focus for this position is safety and approximately 70%-80% of this person’s time will be devoted to it.

Qualifications: BS in Safety or related; 5-10 years EH&S experience in manufacturing with a preference towards aerospace; strong leadership and technical skills.

 

Environmental Engineer-Air Permitting Compliance Leader

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA area

The Air Permitting Compliance Leader is responsible for the day-today implementation and administration of legally compliant Environmental Management policies, programs, and best practices at the plant. This person performs complex assignments and has sole responsibility for critical environmental programs. Some of the responsibilities include management and coordination of facility’s efforts related to compliance with Title V requirements; management and coordination of activities related to facility air compliance, including NSPS and MACT standards, and development and submittal of associated reports to agencies; development and submittal of facility emissions inventory and associated reports, including AIMS, TRI, TSCA, and emissions inventory evaluations and updates associated with projects on-site.

Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years experience in high-risk industry such as chemical plants and pipelines or equivalent with demonstrated knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations implementation pertaining to “air” including Title V and MACT. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, relevant sciences or specific environmental discipline.
